Today, based on the report of Michael Letwin (NYCLAW Co-Convener and former Local 2325 President) and Jonathan Tasini (Local 1981/NUW President), the
30,000-member UAW Region 9A NY Metro Area CAP Council became the first UAW regional body to endorse U.S. Labor Against the War (USLAW). The Council also endorsed the national antiwar demonstrations on January 18 and Feburary 15.
At this Saturday’s antiwar protest in DC, Letwin will speak in his capacity as NYCLAW Co-Convener and member of the USLAW Continuations Committee. NYCLAW Co-Convener Brenda Stokely will speak as President of AFSCME DC 1707. The rally, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be broadcast live on C-Span and other media outlets.
